As a precaution to help slow the spread of COVID-19, the Calaveras County Registrar of Voters is not providing service to walk-in customers. To the extent possible we will assist via phone and email. Candidate Filing Period: July 13 through August 7, 2020

The Elections Department is currently only completing candidate filing by appointment due to COVID-19 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. However, the office will take appointments until 5:00 p.m. on days that have a filing deadline. Walk-ins will be helped but only if there are no other scheduled appointments for that time, if you come in as a walk-in you may be asked to leave and call us to make an appointment for an available time slot. Filing deadlines are rigid, so it is advisable to file early. Please make sure to review all paperwork thoroughly, most errors can be corrected given adequate time. Candidate Filing Process Outline

Please read the following process to file for candidacy:

  1. Candidate fills out forms listed below, use Cover Page to help determine which forms you will be filling out, and return all applicable forms, including Cover Page, to Elections Office for processing, return by email or return when setting up appointment below
  2. If returned by Email: Elections office will call candidate to confirm information and set appointment to file for candidacy
  3. Candidate will bring all completed and signed forms marked on Cover Page to appointment

Note for City of Angels, County Council Candidates: You will need to make two appointments, filing for this office requires 20-40 valid Nomination signatures before we can issue a Declaration of Candidacy, if you plan on running for this office please make appointment below or call (209) 754-6376 to make an appointment to pick up Nomination Papers.
